Megan’s ‘Hot in Cleveland’

Hello Graciegray friends and loyal followers. I’m back and so sorry it has been so long since I’ve been able to blog. The wedding is over and I’ve finally come down from the bride brain cloud. Summer for us was a busy one and I can’t believe I’m on my 6th month here in CLE. I recently discovered the most fantastic store called The Powder Room in Beachwood, OH. A new friend of mine, who also happens to be an aesthetician (and equally as beauty obsessed as I am), told me I “had” to go check out this place, so naturally I did…right away! I’ll forewarn you and preface this with that The Powder Room is not somewhere you should go if you’re a beauty addict like me, and on a post wedding budget! That being said, I want to share some of the new make up lines they introduced me to that are fabulous and worth every penny!

All I can say is OMG! Where have I been and why haven’t I found this line until now?! This stuff is AMAZE! I’ll spare you with my own novice opinion on this product and quote directly from their website because you’ll want to read this, and then want to buy it after reading why Madonna, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood choose to use this while on tour. I will tell you that because of my oily/acne prone skin I was hesitant, but I cannot even begin to explain how fabulous this looks on my skin… and ZERO break outs, so I’m sold and will be a loyal user from this point on! No need to search for the perfect foundation any longer. This is IT!

The heart and soul of FACE atelier – an innovative approach to foundation that allows you to be in control. Ultra Foundation is a silicone-based emulsion that floats on top of the skin, doesn’t crease or flake, and lasts all day long. Hydrating yet oil-free, it obscures tiny lines and pores to ensure a smooth finish. No primer needed! It’s built into Ultra Foundation, thanks to the super sophisticated, silicone-based formula. Another bonus – it sets without powder, preserving the youthful, dewy finish.

Got those “I can never find my shade” foundation blues? Only FACE atelier allows you to infinitely adjust your foundation shade. Add a drop of Zero Plus or revolutionary Zero Plus Plus to go a shade darker, or a splash of Zero Minus to lighten. Superstar Heat adds warmth, transforming shades before your very eyes.

The silicone molecule is bigger than the human pore, allowing Ultra Foundation to form a lightweight, breathable second skin that is both moisture and oil resistant. It is truly non-comedogenic and is ideal for troubled or mature skin.

Ultra Foundation’s top-secret formulation creates an optical blurring effect that diminishes fine lines and wrinkles and gives the illusion of a smoother, more uniform and naturally dewy finish. No wonder it’s the foundation of choice for stars like Fergie and Lady Gaga!!OpenForm&t=catalog&cat=uf

Now I’ve bought my fair share of lip sticks, lip glosses, lip balms, lip stains… you name it. This “creamy lip” from Ellis Faas is the most unique applicator I’ve seen to date. It comes in several different shades and I started out buying 2 dark plum and fuchsia, since they’re the hottest color of the season. I ended up giving one to my friend, Jackie, who referred me to The Powder Room because she loved it so much. I then went back to buy one to replace that one and decided I needed another shade in a more neutral tone for days I want to be more conservative. They have one shade of nude, that was sold out, and I totally understand why. It is a pretty nude, but has a peach hue to it that makes it fun, yet not overly bold. Check out their the link to their website, where you can read more about the line and buy directly from them.

I have lots more to share with you, but I’ll tease you a bit and hold off on spilling all the beans on one post. Check back soon for more of my recent finds from The Powder Room and my time spent thus far in the CLE! Cheers for now!

Butter Up

Now I understand what all this hype is about! Absolutely obsessed with this British brand of nail polish. I stumbled upon it at Plum Market and immediately fell in love with it after testing out a few shades. It’s amazeballs! “Color- not carcinogens” as they say and alsoFormaldehyde free! I opted with Hoorah Henri because its a neutral color that’s easy to apply yourself with zero streaking! Something I’ve found hard to find in a neutral polish! They have a ton of colors though! I’ve officially converted! This is a definite must buy! Zappos even has this online if you can’t find it in your area!
